the bionic leg

30 Jan
Okay, today I finally saw my X-ray so I’ll make a correction – my leg is broken in 3 places, at least. Horizontally, vertically and diagonally, and the fibula too. Plus it turns out that what I imagined to be one little screw somewhere near my knee is actually an enormous piece of scaffolding reaching half way down my leg, held in with about 10 screws. My leg is actually now made of titanium. Mmmm lovely.
I figure:
1) This ought to make my leg quite hard to break again. But
2) might make me more likely to be struck by lightning. And to be quite vigorously frisked at customs.
In other news, I’m getting a bit bored of having a broken leg. But wheelchairs are fun. And there seems to be some kind of poetic justice in the Old Lady of college finally acting like one. Hope you guys are happy now.

Goodness me. I’d rather not know, if I were you…. but I’m sure they know what they were doing.I never told you that I had a road trip all planned…. well…. hopefully some point between my terms. Wanna go do a road trip to Eckington? Would love to show you round, plus I KNOW it’s pretty, so no risks there.
