Chau

21 Dec
Bye for a while – heading back to Bristol for a couple of weeks tomorrow (not done that in ages!) so I might not get to write much… rest assured I will be back with strange tales of Epiphany parties and wassailing again.
This morning I finished reading "The Man Who Was Thursday" by G.K. Chesterton. It really is a great book. Chesterton was a profound wit, and it has some brilliant things to say about hope and anarchy, faith in mankind, and the purpose of suffering, in the guise of an allegorical detective/spy thriller.
All this allegory (and thinking about "Immanuel") inspired me to try and get down the Christmas story (or at least the incarnation) in an unconventional way, so I wrote something over here. It’s not CS Lewis, but I thought it was okay. Don’t lose sight of what Christmas is, and see you soon, I had really better pack…
