A Christmas thought

20 Dec

Ho ho ho.

On Sunday I spent most of the day at The King’s Centre (church) helping throw a Christmas dinner and film afternoon for our homeless/vulnerably housed friends before our carol service. It made me feel proper festive. And here is a prayer left behind by one of our regular guests, the amazing Alan:

“And they opened their treasures and offered unto him gold and frankincense and myrrh.” Loving Lord, we give thee thanks for the treasures which we have received at this church today: a fellowship meal, Christian love and the Christmas gospel of forgiveness. We have received so much, yet “What can I give Him, poor as I am? If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb. Yet I would do my part, and so I give my heart”. May this ever be so. This we beg through Jesus Christ – Amen.

Amen, Alan! Merry Christmas, one and all.
